There are multiple tiny Weetrills on this tree. He climbs the trunk, pauses on the top branch to gauge the distance to the pine tree, and makes a massive leap from the deciduous tree to the pine tree. Narrator: A bauble for a start and then a quest in need of minding. 2- Top down shot of Weetrill climbing hand-over-hand through the thin needl-y pine branches 3 - Weetrill clings to one branch and stretches out his hand to try and grab the red berry Narrator: And sometimes (thou shalt know not when…) 4- The branch Weetrill is holding for balance snaps in two. Page 19 1 - Plumkin has stopped as the crowd around her continues to pass toward Magpie’s door. She is pointing up at Weetrill. Plumkin: What’s that? 2 - Weetrill looks down at Plumkin, confused by the question and surprised to be addressed. Weetrill (uncertainly): whats’… 3 - Weetrill realizes Plumkin is not pointing at him after all, but rather at something just over his shoulder. A cold bead of sweat drips down his face. Weetrill: …what? 4 - Weetrill slowly turns to look over his shoulder and, for the first time, he sees the Visitor looming over him and peering down at the Locket in his arms. They stare at each other for a beat of silence. 5 - The Visitor brings its face nose-to-nose with Weetrill, too close for comfort The Visitor: …Heet 6 - Weetrill screams in terror at the top of his lungs in the Visitor’s face. Panel one: A boy with a shaved head, bandaged arms, a tank top and a scarf presses his face to a spaceship porthole (it's clear from the background that his spaceship is a junker) Panel two: A damaged escape pod is smoking and dead in the water in space Panel three: The escape pod occupant is a young man with blonde hair and a large pointy nose. He wakes up and looks around, disoriented Panel four: A KRAK onomatopoeia and the escape pod occupant winces at what he's about to see Panel five: The escape pod's beeping and sizzling control panel. It's breaking apart and sparking. The emergency ejection button is blinking red. Panel six: Closeup of the angry red blinking button Felix the pirate captain and Dim his ward argue about what to do with their prisoner: Panel One- Felix: Okay, so what's your plan? Dim: Frank fixes the ship, and I...supervise! I won't let him out of my sight, okay? Two- Felix: Look kid, I'm not gonna just slap a wrench in his hand and set him loose on our core systems. I've seen that trick too man times. RULE NUMBER 25 - Three- Dim: 'Don't take the bait' I GET it. But you were hanging out the airlock for ages with a gun pointed at nothing! Face it, he's alone! Four - Felix: And when he knocks you out, hijacks our comms and signals his henchmen to swoop in and kill us? Five - Dim stands in a tough-guy hero pose with a starry nebula background Dim: He won't. You know I can take a punch. Six - Felix takes a long time to mull it over Seven - Felix: Uuuuuuuuuugh FINE. Eight - Felix: But don't come crying to me when we're dead!

Page 13: 1 - Weetrill stands in a massive crowd of beasties (animal folk), Fey (fairy and bug folk), and weekin (small humanoid fey). Many of the people in the crowd are holding small items similar to the heart locket weetrill is carrying. They’re all facing the direction of the large tree where Magpie witchbird lives. 2 and 3 - the ‘camera’ has moved through the crowd to show the people standing behind weetrill in line. In Panel 2 everyone is still turned toward magpie’s tree and moving in that direction. in panel 3 a small, glowing semi-transluscent blue spirit pops out of the crowd. it has large oval eyes and a cylindrical body that looks like a frock with a hood pulled over its head. The spirit is staring at weetrill. 4 - A closeup of the spirit’s staring eyes. it's glow is so bright it shines outside of the comic panel borders Page 14 1 - The ‘camera’ is now behind Weetrill, from the perspective of the spirit that was watching him on the previous page. These spirits are called ‘visitors’. The sky has turned ink blue, dark and it's full of snow flurries. The crowd of beasties, fey, and Weekin have all turned into translucent, shapeless blue spirits. The only figure that hasn’t changed into a spirit is Weetrill The Visitor: Eeheet 2 - Snow is swirling all around the suddenly dark sky. The ‘camera’ is still moving as the visitor’s line of sight. It begins slowly moving toward Weetrill, parting the crowd without anyone noticing. Its ghostly blue arms have sprouted 3-fingered hands that are reaching and grasping to reach Weetrill The Visitor: eee…heet 3 - The Visitor's hands are hovering just above Weetrill’s shoulders. The crowd has vanished, and snow is falling all around The Visitor: eee…eeeheet… 4 - The background of darkness and snow drops away, and there’s a closeup of the blue glowing, reaching hand in profile, casting its glow on a pure white background. It’s a final breathless moment right before contact is made A dwarven forge cleric with a gun slung over his shoulder. He has long hair, and thick beard, armor with a cape overtop, and he's smoking a cigarette and staring skeptically forward A vaporwave-style Venusaur in a pink glowing room with palm trees, light pillars, and a checkerboard floor. There is a small horizontally banded sun behind it

Page 23 1 - Plumkin stares up at Weetrill, and explains with a child’s bluntness Plumkin: My mom says you’re can-tankerous. And that’s why you don’t know how to get along. 2 - Weetrill turns around, taking umbridge, and retorts while clutching the locket Weetrill: I get along fine. Plumkin (listing more of Weetrill’s faults, counting on her fingers): And you live in that big tree all by yourself. Weetrill: I like my privacy. 3 - Plumkin lights up and points eagerly over Weetrill’s shoulder Plumkin: Maybe that’s why The Visitor won’t leave you alone! 4 - A silent car crash of a beat. Weetrill continues to face forward, holding the Locket to his chest, but his eye twitches and he’s tense. Certain already that there’s something behind him. The Visitor creeps up on the left. peeking with its three-fingered hands over Weetrill’s shoulder 5 - Weetrill whirls around to confront the Visitor, who instantly appears on the right side instead, avoiding Weetrill’s line of sight, its hands hovering millimeters above the locket Page 24 - 1 - Weetrill throws a defensive foot up just in time to block the Visitor from grabbing the locket Weetrill: HEY! 2 - Plumkin shouts to Weetrill as he wrestles the Visitor Plumkin: I think it wants the bauble! 3 - Weetrill and the Visitor continue to struggle, crowding each other out of the panel. Weetrill shouts in reply to Plumkin Weetrill: Well, it can take it up with Magpie! 4 - Weetrill is full body wrestling with the Visitor now, and still arguing back and forth with Plumkin Plumkin (overly cheerful with starry sparks beside her): Maybe it wants to be your friend! Weetrill (barely holding the Visitor at bay): There’s nothing good about what it wants! 5 - A shot of a round door with a large violet gem in its center. The door sits in the trunk of a massive tree in the center of the dusty basin. This is Magpie Witchbird’s home, and she addresses Weetrill loudly from somewhere inside the tree, her voice booming magically over the entire basin. The trunk is now shadowed a dark indigo color and the page background gradually grows dark and is dappled with stars Magpie: WEETRILL WEEKIN!! Page 25 - 1 - Weetrill whips around at Magpie’s voice, his eyes wide with shock at being called out 2 - The entire crowd ahead of him has turned around to stare at Weetrill 3 - Magpie’s door is still seemingly magically bathed in the blue shadows of night. She continues to magically address Weetrill from inside the tree Magpie: Come hither, Weetrill. Be quick and be lively! Try not a Witchbird’s patience with thy dithering! 4 - Weetrill trepidatiously looks toward the door, certain he must heed the Witchbird’s summons Page 26 - 1 - Weetrill tries to push his way through the crowd. Several voices begin whispering behind his back, but Weetrill can clearly hear them Voice one: What’s he doing here? 2 - Weetrill stops in his tracks at the hurtful words Voice two: Look at the claws on him! Voice three: Don’t stare! 3 - Weetrill puts his head down, holding the locket in front of him with both hands. His eyes are sadly cast downward. Voice three (continuing): You’ll make him angry! 4 - A wide shot of the crowd silently watching, less than amused, as Weetrill finally breaks through the throng and marches up to Magpie’s door in the tree trunk 5- Weetrill pulls the round door with the large gem in the center open. The door gives a loud creak. 6 - Weetrill daintily and cautiously steps one foot inside the threshold, entering the tree’s trunk
