But maybe in a war game you want to follow a specific strategy archetype, ranged behind high defense, then again you can follow the same logic as choosing your favorite color marker. You find all the ranged units and high defense units and mix and match until happy.

So even though there are 18 options, I clearly see a path to two or three of them.

Can the same thing be represented in games?

I like ranged units in combat games, if there are 18 units, I will gravitate towards those, but for a strategy to be viable, I need to understand what each unit can do.

I would personally gravitate towards a section of colors, likely blues or purples. That automatically limits the analysis to being less than a third or so, or 6 options.

I like deeper colors, that could limit it by half to a third again leaving 2 or 3 options.

Awesome!! Thank you! I'll probably try playing with my family, do you know if anyone has made a how-to-play video?

I'll be getting three games to a playtestable by February's Protospiel in Minnesota! I'll also be attending both Origins and PaxU!

I will also be getting 5 more playtests in of my RPG with the current group and get one more batch of 6 playtests with a second group!

Everything else is gravy :)
