A happy, long awaited update on my MG ghost story WIP The Ghost in Mitchell Bay.

I have reached the 1/3 mark. I hope to have the 1st draft completed by the end of November.

I had hoped to be done and editing long before now, but as with most authors, life gets in the way. #WritingCommunity #KidLit

“Oh Eli, don’t you understand?! I’ve gone too far! At first, I didn’t care who I hurt. Spencer, Ashlyn, Odelia, Aiden – I mean, who cares. They were horrible to me. But now I’ve started to hurt people I care about – Tyler, and now Emily…”

“I’d be careful who you push," Stanley said.
“I could crush you between my fingers if I wanted to, you little pipsqueak," Matty snarled.
Stanley audaciously stepped forward and offered an evil smile.
“So could I,” he muttered.

Aside from some horror movie picks next month, I'll be stepping away from social media for the rest of the year as I complete my next novel The Ghost in Mitchell Bay - book 2 in my five-book MG mystery series that began this year with The Boy in Mitchell Bay. I'm aiming for a May 2026 release date.

This is a star-packed tribute.

The only major honour missing from Anne Murray's resume is her induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame - after all she's accomplished for the genre (including keeping it afloat during the country-pop crossover era of 1975-1985). 1/2

61 people 'bought' my book when I listed it as a free promotion on Smashwords - my wacky, absurdist political satire White Rabbit that rips US politics and MAGA in particular to shreds, showing that people need a laugh and an escape from the unhinged, historic madness that is consuming the U.S.

Brazil does the right thing when a former president attempts a coup and incites a violent insurrection involving his radicalized cult base.

If anyone reads this in the future, I said Brazil, not the former United States before it descended into another civil war. I know, I can't explain it either.

And the other choice?

Bloody hell, the short-sightedness and ongoing ignorance by the utopian far-left of how politics works is unbelievable, followed by their usual ad hominem attack that should've been reserved for actual fascists in power doing actual fascist things south of the border. #cdnpoli
Canada elected a neoliberal banker who scrapped the carbon tax and paused the EV car mandates while the country is on fire. He's demanding austerity for social programs while pouring billions into the military.

While corporate profits soar so do mass layoffs.

This sets the stage for fascism

He casually batted at the coffee cup in her hand. It clumsily fell from her loose grip and broke on the floor.
“I tried…” she whispered.
“You quit trying a long time ago.”
“I’m your mother.”
Stanley deliberately leaned into her face.
“I have no mother.”

FELIX!

Canada's Felix Auger-Aliassime🇨🇦 has advanced to the US Open semifinals!

It's the third upset in a row for him at the 2025 US Open (Zverev #3, Rublev #15, de Minaur #8) and it's his second appearance in a Grand Slam semifinal (2021 US Open).

So proud.🇨🇦 #TennisSky #Tennis #Canada

FELIX!🇨🇦

Wow.

What a performance. In just over 2 hours, Canada's Felix Auger-Aliassime🇨🇦 dismantles Andrey Rublev in a thoroughly dictatorial manner and advances to the quarterfinals of the US Open.

It's his best grand slam in almost 4 years.

Could this finally be the one? #TennisSky #Tennis

FELIX!

Canada's Felix Auger-Aliassime🇨🇦 has reached the round of 16 at the US Open. He'll play Animal from the Muppets... I mean Andrey Rublev next.

After a few years of inconsistent and disappointing play at the majors, Felix is the last Canadian standing in singles. #TennisSky #Tennis

"Stanley... Stanley..." they droned.
