Try Ulysses while listening to the RTE dramatisation of it (it's basically a 1982 audiobook version of it). It's what got me through Ulysses during the pandemic.

While I'm not a brandy drinker, I'm intrigued. A bottle is on its way to me, so I'll report back on my experience.

It's going good. Though I am unashamedly biased towards Irish whiskey, so bear with me. It's going through a bit of a renaissance at the moment.

I'll admit it took me a few moments, but I got it. Brilliant.

The youth of the spirit is the big issue for me. Too many times I have enthusiastically bought new releases of a distillery's own make to be disappointed. I've a couple of bottles open here that the only use for them is cooking. Though on the plus side, my BBQ sauce is pretty good of late.
