Exactly what comms are you seeking? There have been articles in November, December and January in the media and the uk and Aus websites make reference to it. Airlines also prompt ticket purchasers to check entry requirements when issuing tickets.

It’s been in numerous media stories including those over the new year about changes in 2025.
But easy to miss if you’re not planning to travel.

It’s not a visa but an electronic travel authorisation. The US and Canada have similar schemes and the EU’s comes into effect later in the year.

I might still visit Melaka but will definitely avoid the toilets at the world heritage building (though assume they’ve been closed after your visit)
