We painted nutcrackers as a family tonight. I have no artistic talent, but I still am happy with how this came out.

The start of this book makes entering a new fantasy world so easy. Such a slow drip of new information and fantastical elements. Very easy to follow. Yet, at the same time, so slow. No big set piece to show the central conflict or lore. Just a boy fleeing a storm. Can't decide if I like this start.
