I really like my job. I get to dress fun as a video game professor. I normally wear cool gaming and pop culture items.

Today's fit Saja Boys.

Game Jam was a blast this past weekend. My favorite part was seeing so many of my old students return to campus.

Making homemade pizzas with Prof Reynolds was well received by all the jammers.

Playing Eiyuden Chronicle for the first time. It took me a bit to get over the jittery camera movements but now that I'm past the prologue it's starting to pull me in.

Narrative Design panel @thegdex.bsky.social has been super informative. A lot of affirmations on processes paired with deeper insight to their creative flow.

Unicorn Overlord I couldn't pass up with such a bad ass name. I didn't know what to expect going in, but I saw it had it's own "Gambit" system and said "bet". This is such a charming game with really fun tactical combat. I really wish it had a proper NG+

I've finished Final Fantasy XII many times but never touched The Zodiac Age. The Gambit system is one of my all time favorite game mechanics and I want more games to include something similar. Zodiac Age is a great return to Ivalice.

At this point I'm still wanting more turn-based games. So I was just strolling through the game shop and spotted Astria Ascending. I had no expectations going in, I just saw it was turn-based and a few bucks. This was a diamond in the rough. Charming characters and fun tactical combat.

I'm counting this as one game even though it was really 3.5 games. This game was on sale for like $5 and I couldn't pass it up. Getting to play some of my favorite PS2 games all over again I was hooked. I think this was when I was finally getting over the E33 high.

White Knight Chronicles always had me wanting to buy it. The cover art just screams at me to play it, alas I never did. OH BOY did I miss out. This game reminds me so much of FF12 gameplay. I had a ton of fun building combos and my village up. Working on playing again but with WKC2.

It was hard to find a game to pull me from E33 but the game that did it was Metaphor: ReFantazio. My initial play through was just getting my bearings and trying to come off the high that was E33. My second play through I really started to appreciate the game.

Clair Obscure: Expedition 33 was a day one purchase for me, then I couldn't stop playing for nearly two weeks. I was glued to my TV. It gave me the same feelings as when I first played Final Fantasy VII and Lost Odyssey. Immediately became one of my favorite games of all time.

After playing through all 8 characters in Saga Frontier I wanted more. PS+ provided me with a free demo of Romancing Saga 2 remake. It was just what I needed. The modern take on an old classic really held my attention. I love turn-based RPGs.

One of my favorite games as a kid. I remember being able to rent it from the local video store but never owning it. With the Remaster I was finally able to finish all the story lines and really nail down the mechanics.
August 27, 2025 at 2:01 AM
I had to finish the trilogy(?). The new combat and swinging mechanics felt seamless like they were always there. The new control style took a moment to get use to but I figured it out. Always love to hang around with one of my favorite Marvel characters.
August 27, 2025 at 2:01 AM
A great continuation to Marvel's Spider-Man. The game really gave me a feel of NYC that I never got from a previous Spider-Man game. Miles style of combat and swinging definitely gave a fresh twist on a proven formula.
August 27, 2025 at 2:01 AM
I played the original on release. Wanted to play the Remaster before diving into Spider-Man 2 as a refresher. I also never finished the DLC so I was great to do it all in one go. Swinging was just as great as ever.

I have no clue what Steam Community Market means. I put a lot of hours into Marvel Heroes though and really miss it.

Marvel Snap is still fun till this day.
August 8, 2025 at 7:19 PM
I'm always trying to create fun decks in Marvel Snap. One I keep coming back to is making a usable X-men Themed deck.

With the X-ception of a few cards this is my new try at an X-men deck.

It's really astonishing to see the summers bros synchronize their attacks on turn 6.
