You can see this with most hero ships we’ve gotten through the years. From the Excelsior and the Galaxy, all the way to the Sovereign and Intrepid when starfleet finally realized necks were a structural weakness

For MOST of Star Trek, the Constitution class - the original Enterprise - defined a lot of the aesthetic design of what starfleet vessels looked like
Saucer section, secondary hull, and at least two nacelles on struts that kept them away from the hull
