The average American only has a hs diploma and maybe some college coursework. We're not exactly working with people who've developed good critical thinking skills.

Yeah, but to be candid, I got pretty good feeling we're not gonna get a flash in the pan. The slower approach is more likely to actually happen.

Well, you can handle it with precision and excise the problem, or you can light a fuse and have a big mess. One is more challenging than the other, but both work

I think as a trans person heavily affected by this administration, I do. Also, im not saying a coup is even a bad thing in this case, just that it's present its own set of risks and will likely have collateral damage.

No, but gambling on the person who replaces them is admittedly sketchy.

It can create power vacuums and potentially empower even worse people. It's why arming rebellions historically has turned out pretty badly. Its like offing one problem, just to gamble on if another bigger one will fill Its place.

We aren't, well, not exactly. We have a pretty considerable amount of civil unrest. I have a feeling this is going to be more of a lining up a shot situation than a little fuse. That being said, I agree that a coup would give pretty immediate results.

It's because we're mad, not violent. We have means to ignore our suffering at intervals. Change happens with action, not outrage. Not pro violence, but revolutions tend to require a few heads on Pikes, sometimes figurative, sometimes literal. It's a moral catch 22.

SSRIs, admittedly, can increase depression symptoms. While not making someone more aggressive, it could make someone more inclined to suicidal actions. Don't get me wrong, this is extremely rare. RFK is obviously full of shit. There is, however, a very marginal case to be made for more scrutiny.

Wow, that'll be interesting to see. Quick way to get a riot. Last time cops were too corrupt and were busy persecuting people. We just burned down their precinct. I'm curious to see how that scales up

Im pretty sure there was a study done a few years back on this subject. It basically showed that the vast majority of actual office work is done in the first 5 hours, with the remaining time having progressively diminished returns. Lower working conditions exasperated the productivity decline.

Boringly, it's basically a nauseating amount of additions and rewrites to tax codes. That and some effective proletariat counter to union breakers. Granted, getting any of that done would have to result from accurate representation. Ironically, you'd have to "drain the swamp." Less old blood.

It's a conservative estimate, too, btw. Some historians speculate that the number could have been and was likely to have been higher. As much as 2.5 million in total infant deaths. This is largely due to how the census took into consideration newborns and outlying residential areas at the time.

Can you, logically, explain why, in any universe, you'd want fewer regulations on the health and safety of the food you eat. Again, explain to me why you think having less enforcement of the health standards and the safety of the food you eat is good.

If anyone ever wants to know just how bad it can get, well, the Gilded Age is a pretty good example. Also, the more egregious is borax in milk, so it wouldn't taste or smell spoiled. An estimated half a million children died of what was then thought to be SIDS, as a result.

Plus, you have a lot of people who would otherwise be center right or centrist, who are getting more radicalized towards far right ideals. The same applies to people being more radicalized towards the left. We're growing more openly divisive.

With any luck, we'll still have plenty of fall to enjoy. Good opportunity to bring back the cropped jackets before it gets much colder.

Yeah, we really need those fires to be over already. Breathing would be nice.

Minnesota, maybe Wisconsin?
August 4, 2025 at 5:11 PM
Yeah, no. There are copious logistical issues with being able to fully employ literally every working age person. I mean, technically, you could have a seasonal worker travel around the US throughout the seasons, but that's unlikely to be practical
