one thing that i have noticed that usually helps to start conversations online is to start the conversation with some purpose, like for example asking something that they know and go on from there. and i totally feel you with being a bother but 8/10 times people do have the time for a little chat

there is something about it that feels right but also wrong at the same time (also you cant leave us like this, we need to see their evolved forms now :p)
