It seems my work-bound tube was having a bit of a moment this morning!

Lodging in London tonight.

It’s the little things, but this piece of “thank you for your loyalty [Insert Name Here]” did bring a smile to my face

This was the final round on today’s Pointless. My problem wouldn’t be thinking of answers, but trying to narrow it down to just three (and pointless ones at that)

Brand new uniforms at work - and I tell you what, I look GOOD.

Not in a vain, narcissistic way. I feel more confident, handsomer…everything.

(Hat not strictly part of the terminal staff uniform; I asked a Train Manager for a go on his!)

In both directions? Replicating the same journey for tomorrow, even the GWR website offers the 08:43 Liz line. The live departures page also returns a Liz line train from PAD most of the time before 1500.

Cats are weird creatures. Nala used to sleep on her back, legs akimbo, and often with her head under a cushion too!

If you see this, post a bridge

Post the most recent photo of you in your camera roll.

Oh dear - this one again. Apologies to all

This is my first trip since RailMiles started auto-populating for Southeastern. Handy, as I didn’t have chance to grab the unit number before boarding (and saves me having to look for the rear set as it leaves Rainham), but it almost takes a little bit of the fun out of it? Am I alone in this?

I have an LGBT wristband I got in the goody bag from a conference in Blackpool this year. I wear it all the time as both a statement and an “You’re safe with me” - last month, I got a very timid “I like your wristband” from a young teen and thought “aww baby gay reaching out” ❤️

And so concludes a brief little trip out to tick off a little stretch of outstanding (in both senses) track.

Shame the last train didn’t get the memo about staying to time!

“When marimba rhythms start to play, dance with me. Make me…”
September 22, 2025 at 9:37 AM
Alas, this Desiro has clearly been the victim of that scourge of rail staff the world over; feet on seats!

Funnily enough, my earlier post about ‘sense’ was initially about ‘manners’. Rather wish I’d kept it thusly, as this would then be in keeping with the theme…

I would have loved to have stayed a little longer and seen what a ‘Calming Space’ was - I imagine it’s a quiet space for those who are overwhelmed to re-centre themselves.

Could have done with one of those in the 90s with all those loud Paxman Valentas on the HSTs!

And so, it’s time to go back from whence I came! Yet another 450! Shame the timings didn’t match up with any 444s or Voyagers for some variety, but it is what it is

Now back at Brockenhurst. Thank you trusty steed for the brief spin to the Pier and back. Shame you’re not a slam-door any more 🤷‍♂️
September 22, 2025 at 9:16 AM
Special shout out to Lymington Town, which has a helpful ‘Next station for Ferries’ sign in addition to the classic Southern Railways-esque totem
September 22, 2025 at 9:15 AM
If you guessed ‘Lymington Pier’ as the destination, you’d be correct!

Refreshments were acquired during the stop - now, onwards into the unknown…
September 22, 2025 at 8:57 AM
Where could I be going now? 👀
September 22, 2025 at 8:48 AM
Changing places, changing trains
September 22, 2025 at 8:45 AM
Going a bit off-piste today!
September 22, 2025 at 8:12 AM
And then I was brought back to the reality of 2025 when we went across the street to Cineworld to watch ‘The Roses’ - £10.49 for a ticket!
