We covered it at my school in 1970s Midlands. Admittedly I took extra history at 13. My ex husband’s family were military and served abroad so we had an inside knowledge of the Empire.

Don’t do what I did once - fell asleep on the sofa - after a long day at work. Opened the door and blurted the word ‘trick’ in answer to the Q only to be covered in handfuls of flour - kids ran off screaming with delight 👻

If anything can come out of this, if not punishment, imprisonment for the perpetrators but, a freedom and future for women & girls. I can’t believe in 2025 we are are still enduring this shit. There’s many of us who have remained silent and I hope today’s girls can stand up to it when we could not.

The excerpt in the Guardian this last wkend from her book was both heartbreaking and shocking. Rich, privileged men and their enablers preying on young innocent girls who are simply trying to make a living is as low as it gets. I’m getting on a bit but seriously, how much longer?!

Neutral here. Why have our politicians descended into childish name calling etc. I mean ALL of them from the Orange idiot and beyond. I know I’m getting-on a bit, but where is the diplomacy and composure?! At this rate I may never vote again.

And, because it’s Villa, he’s dragged Prince William into it - who I bet is delighted. Not clever by Starmer at all.
