I’m ready to get so much mileage out of this meme.

I’m most looking forward to looking at all the alien makeup. The team that does it is excellent, and I’m really inspired by their work when I make my own. It looks so good in the previews.

The capsule returning from the ISS was soooo pretty! My photos and videos down even begin to do it justice, it was much brighter and more pink to the naked eye. How incredible to realize that four human beings were up there, moving at that speed. And now they’ve splashed down! They are back!

Hello #portfolioday! I am a mixed media artist with a biology degree, which informs my art style. I sculpt, cast, paint, draw, and sew. I particularly love sculpting prosthetics, props, and practical effect pieces. I am available for work, SF based and can travel.
My most recent work, a painting of my neighbor’s dog, done in acrylic on canvas Myself, holding a clay Ferengi sculpture that would later become silicone prosthetics. I am dressed in a partially finished tailcoat, also of my own design. My full Ferengi outfit. The prosthetics, coat, vest, and jumpsuit were all made by me. I modified the glasses myself to have a chain, so I would be able to see in the costume. The only purchase piece is the shoes. Two other Star Trek costumes I’ve made, Drs T’Ana and Migleemo from Lower Decks. These were intended to mimic the large-head cartoon style of the show.

Update: I finished the painting and gave it to my neighbor today. He seemed really touched, and completely surprised. I’m shy, so I made @fennecuskitsune.bsky.social come along for emotional support. Here is the finished painting.

It’s baby Gadget’s 5th birthday today, January 8th. I cannot even begin to express how much I love this dog.

Gadget won’t do any of her outdoors business when it’s raining, unless she wears her boots. If she has her boots, she will splash in puddles and walk on wet grass. Without? No way.

I think a lot about this passage from Fruits Basket too, when I’m overwhelmed. Maybe this thread can help someone else feel a little better too.
For example let's say, Tohru-kun, that you are surrounded with a mountain of laundry piled so high around your feet that you can't move. Are you with me? Now, let's assume you don't have a washing machine, so you have to wash everything individually by hand. You would be at a loss for what to do, right? You'd worry about if you could ever wash everything, if you could get it all clean, if you'd ever have time for anything but laundry ever again! The more you'd think about it, the more anxious you'd get. But the time keeps passing, and the laundry doesn't wash itself. So what do you do, Tohru-kun? It might be a good idea to start washing the laundry right at your feet. Of course it's important to think about what lies ahead, too, but if you only look at what's down the road you'll get tangled in the laundry at your feet and you'll fall, won't you? You see, it's also important to think about what you can do now, what you can do today. And if you keep washing things one at a time, you'll be done before you know it.
