Stunned and saddened to hear the news that Pierre Joris has died. I have known Pierre since 2004 when Gerrit Lansing introduced us at his house in Gloucester. He is one of the great poets, & we have been to each other's readings over the years, & I'm having trouble describing him in the past tense.
