Latest IATA stats reveal that in November European airlines saw international passenger demand 6.8% up on the year before, and with capacity up 6.1% this resulted in load factors increasing 0.5 percentage points to 85.6%.

CAA stats allow us to look at the 20 busiest international air routes (in terms of passenger numbers) to/from the UK during October. This reveals that all bar 2 of these routes served Heathrow and that it was a 50/50 split between short-haul and long-haul.

CAA stats allow us to look at the 20 busiest international air routes (in terms of passenger numbers) to/from the UK during October. This reveals that all bar 2 of these routes served Heathrow and that it was a 50/50 split between short-haul and long-haul.
Heathrow has reported a record November for passenger volumes, but here's a look at the tally for the past twelve months by route segment (blue bars) versus the record achieved in any rolling 12 month period prior to the pandemic (red bars).

In November 112,478 passenger vehicles were transported through the Channel Tunnel, 3% fewer than for the same month a year ago. However, the tally for the first 11 months of this year remains 2% up on that for the same period of 2024.

While sightseeing, shopping and dining in restaurants are the most common activities undertaken by holiday visitors to Britain from Germany note that one-in-three go for a walk in the countryside during their trip.
