It took me forever to find the right height for my cane. In the end I went slightly short on an adjustable one, but made it a fraction taller with a different rubber grip. I have to adjust again depending on what shoes I'm wearing, because of the difference in heel height. The struggle is real

I think the point that taxis help the elderly s d disabled is another point techbros consistently (and let's face it, probably intentionally) overlook. Because the reality is, a robotaxi lacks the human driver which those groups often rely on to make the taxi so accessible in the first place.

Something which really helped me was going back and rereading/editing stuff I wrote like a decade a go. Or five years. Old stuff which I could be impartial about, and see the flaws in. By starting with the stuff I had distance from it got easier to see what I was actually working towards

I often think of a literary magazine my ex had which one time featured the results of a "young writers" contest. The upper age for it was 35. So, maybe we're no longer "young" directly, but it sure seems to me that writing is a career which doesn't really have the same age brackets as many others.

I mean I say all this, but I'm absolutely the one still insisting on waving T1 off to school each morning and nagging her about whether she has everything she needs. It's a hard instinct to shift

Yeah, I remember having to walk home from school one time because the boiler broke and it was too cold. I only had my shirt because we weren't wearing jumpers at that point. Definitely had early stage hypothermia by the time I made it, but I warmed up with no lasting issues! A bit of rain is fiiiine
