I feel that it solely being categorized as abuse is subjective. People only nitpick spankings. There are studies that show verbal and emotional abuse are worse than spankings. We could debate this topic until the end of time, but I’m not changing mind and neither are you.

You have your beliefs and I have mine. I believe children should get spankings if they’d garnered a valid one. Respect is not a reason I mentioned for a child receiving a spanking. I wholeheartedly support children have rights. But there actions have consequences. What route you choose is up to you.

If you equate respect which you’re supposed to give your parents to abuse that’s your prerogative. People are able to discipline their children however they see fit. I have issue with a whipping if it fits the crime. I don’t want my stance to misinterpreted. I don’t condone abuse of any form.

I’d have to agree to disagree. Abuse to me is where there are bruises, abrasions, open wounds, broken bones, and etc. I never experienced those things and by today’s standards I’m glad a did receive a whipping. It made me who I am today. Some people abuse children, that’s not what I’m referring to.

As I child I received a mix balance of talking/ gentle parenting, but once lecturing and gentle were taken into consideration I was whooped. There is a happy medium to everything but people have to be willing to find what works best for them and their children.

As someone who can sing sometimes you get tired of hearing own voice.
