Yeah, I'm doing something similar but using Jolt hinge joints. Since the movement is constrained to a 2D plane, hinge joints are enough and I found the Jolt joints to be a bit more stable than the Bullet ones. The joint limits are fixed but I'm manipulating the motor to act like a spring.

Hey cool! I'm working on something similar. Also in Godot. Would be interesting to compare notes :) Are you using Jolt or Godot physics?
