Aerodynamically challenged. Fabricator, tinkerer, lover of one off parts and new problems instead of those boring old problems.

Technical theater for a paycheck and new problems, motorcycles for fun and 10mm wrenches.

Because I'm apparently one protractor away from my shop pack overflowing I made a little box for my measuring tools.

When I was a young stage hand I asked a mentor of mine incredulously " when will I ever need to measure scenery in the 10,000th of an inch?"

I am an older stagehand now.

What is it about old band saws that are so accurate?

I just did a dozen slices of stainless tube at .1" and the variance is .005.

It's not even that great of a blade and I'm being sloppy with the stop.

On one hand it sucks to have such a complete uniform and persona that you're often not seen as anything besides that.

Wet snow and 6am at the climbing gym.

Tension headache and falling off a wall for my stupid mental and physical health.

Not even 10am and I've already sent my first "kind regards" email.

Off at 5 and waiting for takeout at the (nearly) end of week 7 of overtime.

PSA:

If I put "Kind regards" as the complimentary close of an email what I really mean is "Go fuck yourself".

I've discovered that for the hobby machinist hammers are like zucchini. At a certain point you have too many hammers and have to start giving them away.

Ah the festive sounds of fire trucks in between the fireworks.

I love welding when I know I'm almost out of argon and every pass is a dice roll.

When people talk about winterizing a motorcycle this is what they mean right?
November 21, 2023 at 2:12 AM
Every time I'm building a part or modifying brackets on my motorcycle I end up thinking to myself.

"This seems like a lot of trouble to make space for another sticker ".
