000 used to be a priority with backup batteries powering the telephone exchanges using old PMG copper infrastructure. Enter the NBN with its inability to guarantee 99.99% uptime & it was decided they could live with a system which fails more often (most phones go down now when the power fails)

As an EV owner for over three years - I celebrate that my car is fully charged when I drive it from the garage (charges from my solar PV); there’s charging stations when I need to go a long distance; it’s quiet and a pleasure to drive; and I never have visit a petrol bowser again.
