We went to see The Importance Of Being Ernest this afternoon.
Waiting for my wife to come out of the toilets I found myself standing beside a trans woman, she was a living explanation of the final line of the play: “[she’s] been Ernest all the time”.

Yesterday my granddaughter was resistant to putting on her jumper before going outside. We told her she would get cold, back came the reply, “that’s OK I’ve had my flu vaccination!” She is only 4 what is she going to be like at 14!

Today we were visited by my grown up children & my little grandchildren, possibly only those of you who also blessed with grandchildren will know the happiness this brings me. I wish I could tell my parents I now understand & my grandparents that I hope I brought them similar joy.

I was in Central London. Lots of poppy sellers, reminded me of time in 80s, noticing Elderly Sikh gentleman with more medal ribbons than I’d ever seen selling poppies at Chancery Lane, & as I thought this I saw a guy in uniform w/ so many medals it was a wonder he didn’t walk lopsided
