Economic research on the 2018 tariffs showed it took 3-6 months for consumer prices to rise, so it will still be a while until we see the effects of current and potential tariffs pass through to households.

3. Highly price sensitive customers combined with sufficient profits and competition among retailers (where companies believe they are better off absorbing the new taxes)

2. The policy uncertainty of whether tariffs will even be implemented (where companies take a "wait and see" approach before raising prices on consumers)...

Other items which should be affected, however, are not rising in prices like new vehicles (-0.3% MoM).

This lack of effect could be due to

1. The long lead times before tariffs are implemented (where companies stock up their inventories to before import taxes start)...
