I have no idea if the King in Black story is any good but it’s fascinating how Knull and Klyntar seem to have been published at the exact right time to get screentime in video games and movies.

Currently reading through The New Mutants and was stunned at Sam Guthrie's ability to maintain a moral compass in this situation. If Joan Jett transported me to a sci-fi paradise and kept talking about how hard she was going to fuck me I don't think I'd care about her stealing Earth.

Also the fact that it took 40 years to formally canonize Mystique and Destiny being married is *insane*. I know you couldn’t just say it back then but it’s hard to think how much more obvious Claremont could have been.

I was very confused when Rogue first shows up in the X-Men comics, because she looks like she’s 40, and then like her first day after joining the X-Men she de-ages 20 years (although that haircut isn’t helping)

I was hoping (and still am) that Turn A Gundam is as good as everyone says and based even just off that first episode I'm like "oh, shit, if it can even just maintain this quality for the run it will be". I can't imagine how magical this would feel going in 100% blind.

Rune Soldier in particular feels crazy that it has no footprint anywhere, because it's a spin-off/same universe as Record of Lodoss War, and the premise of "himbo STR-build magician is begrudgingly recruited by a party of competent women who need to round out their party comp" is golden

When I started building up a Blu-ray/DVD collection, I hit into a bunch of series I have never heard anyone discuss and only saw because of previews of a different ADV series. Pretear was one, and the other big ones for me were Rune Soldier and Neo Ranga.

Insane to think that Fire Emblem Warriors was so pressed about coming up with movesets that they had a bunch of characters share, but Age of Imprisonment is like "oh yeah Typhan here has a sword and shield like not!Link, but he has his own moveset and special. He's even got a unique parry mechanic!"

In the stretch of Gundam X where everything is moving faster because their episode count got cut, but the introduction of Pala Sys feels like they went “WE NEED 200cc’s OF TOMBOY ONEE-CHAN, STAT!!!” and for that I am deeply grateful

Kind of in awe of Syun Matsuena's restraint with Kenichi: he introduces Yomi as a villain faction, then has a Tournament Arc in which only one of the member of Yomi (the leader) participates, and then kicks off the next arc by only having 4 of the remaining 7 members show up to be the antagonists.

Ultimate Muscle is weird because most of the time when a creator does a sequel aimed at new target demographic the oldheads don’t show up, but it seems like oldheads were *the* people showing up.
