Meteorologist and Head of Innovation Science with The Weather Company. I work on deep learning applied to probabilistic weather prediction. In my free time, I hike, bike, read, pick up dog poo, and chip the bark off trees (disc golf).
No Kings, Boulder, CO from the far periphery (we arrived late). Good energy, estimate a bigger crowd than the June rally.

Bless Guy Garvey and Elbow. Thank you so much for coming to Denver, to the intimate confines of the Summit Music Hall. It was an amazing event.

This sort of ad amuses me, in that the picture is clearly clickbait and utterly related to the product. Sex sells.

I'd like to see ellipses, not circular cones of uncertainty. From here: journals.ametsoc.org/view/journal...

So USA needs a new political party. Here's the Finley party platform. 1. Just walk away from yappy loudmouths. 2. Prioritize play over everything. 3. Love your peeps, always. 4. More walks. 5. Kisses! 6. Eating cat poo optional.

It's struck me that the rate of flow of water through a drip coffee maker resembles a unit hydrograph. Google Gemini tells me I'm full of it.

More bad car design. Who ever said "Why don't you paint a third of the back window black so I can't see behind me very well?"

It used to be cars had bumpers that the government regulated could stand a 5 MPH bump. But this was big government run amok, so now we have cars with "bumpers" that require enormous repair with the slightest tap

Dangerously tiny windows is the rage in new car design. I'd welcome cars with good visibility, which strikes me as a safety issue.

No Kings Day in Boulder, CO. I'd estimate 2K people.

Here's what the online dictionary says about the meaning of eighty-six. No death threat implied.

Saw this pic and thought of the old military aphorism "salute the office, not the man." (would *hate* to be the woman in the pic).

Us meteorologists feel that "adiabatic" is a legitimate word in NYT Spelling Bee.

Aside from the obvious constitutional issues, the prognosticator in me has to laugh at the assertion that Trump thinks he would have a chance of winning.
