totally agree, look at this Dublin Street, really inefficient, intrusive, and clumsy solution to inner urban waste management. Many countries/cities successfully simplify this by having larger collective bins in a parking space, or similar.

Ordinary enough scene in Oslo, Norway today. But look at the great pedestrian space, the bikes to the left, the escooters & the tram in the background - all part of medium density & compact urbanism. No cars, but a lot of happy people. It ranks highly in quality of life indexes for a good reason.
