However on further thought - if he was tried in Brasiia, he might have been sentenced to house detention there. If so, fortuitous for him would-be plan.

He was living in Brasilia. No top people willingly live in Brasilia - it's remote, away from the rest of the country - so that's a tell - he wanted to be close to the embassy.

It's one of those things where tow actually makes sense - toe the line means obey, follow the rules, conform - another one - it's bald faced lie, not bold faced lie (comes from 19th century, don't trust a man who does't have a beard).

Better this than picking CBS (and maybe soon CNN) anchors, to which Ellison will oblige.

TOE the line, not tow the line - comes from a footrace, you put your toe as close to the line as possible. Very common error.

Beautiful. A local TV station, hardly a bastion of hipness but very up on the Palm Springs area vibe, headlined it's initial tory when put on line as "Beloved actor Udo Kier dies." They didn't mean, I suspect, beloved like Jimmy Stewart or Henry Fonda, but in terms of people who knew him here.

People have lots of issues with air travel. How others dress wouldn't make the top 10. Maybe not the top 50. For Duffy to go public with this, particularly this time of the year, is beyond braindead. It's like asking to be kicked.

A local Palm Springs tv newscast headline "Beloved actor Udo Kier dies" - the beloved part because he was omnipresent in the Palm Springs film and other communities, known as very friendly, approachable, many friends.

People wear footware that is easy to take off.

Here's a tell: Bolsonaro was in Brasilia. Few people willingly live in Brasilia. That he did suggests he wanted proximity to the embassy.
November 24, 2025 at 7:29 PM
My guess is then Trump would elevate his demand for Brazil to let him go, with the option of giving him safe harbor there otherwise. Slightly better position for Bolsonairo.
November 24, 2025 at 5:13 PM
Exactly how did they plan to get him from the embassy to the airport? Maybe he could have found safe harbor there, but it would have been a somewhat better prison.

Context, not excuse: Cassidy voted for the 2nd Trump conviction. He's been close to a dead man walking since. He hopes that Trump won't endorse his MAGA opponent, then survive til the general election. Any variation from 100% "loyal" could doom him.

Isn't the risk for her that she incriminates herself for possible state charges if she is released from prison? Sorry to be devil's advocate but if I were her attorneys that's what I'd be telling her.

duh won not one

The Lord of the Rings trilogy was actually one 10 hour movie. I don't think any actors were repeat nominees (Ian McKellan the first time?) It one Best Picture for part 3 for the whole series.

Vance could be a worse idea as president than Trump. He'd rush to dump Ukraine & then NATO. The only point in his favor is he'd have to think about getting elected again, something that doesn't constrain Trump.
November 23, 2025 at 4:33 AM
Doesn't he want to be in the Senate until he dies? He takes this job & he's a has been in 3 years. (Of course I wondered about Rubio as well, but I assume he figured it was his path to the presidency for some reason).
November 23, 2025 at 2:30 AM
If he's still around who does Trump endorse? Maybe not anyone but a wink and a nod to Noem?
November 22, 2025 at 3:14 AM
Oh great, MTG vs Kristi Noem (obviously Vance in the mix)

GA state wide primary is May 19 - could they hold the primary mid March so has to coordinate with that daye for the House election? if not, the primary of May 19, with the regular election mid-July.
November 22, 2025 at 1:42 AM
In terms of timing - assuming a special election (not leaving it vacant) is required - and of course they want the GOP seat - GA law requires 60 days bw primary & election. The clock starts on Jan 6; need time to get signatures, then allow for the campaign - so figure maybe 6 month vacancy?
