We'll pay special attention to the practices (social, material, textual, etc.) and media that shape community/identity in each case. Any and all suggestions welcome, from specific readings to possible case studies to something more general. (3/4)

Plan is to focus on a series of case studies that capture different kinds of groups: rel minorities (e.g. English recusants), rel majorities (e.g. Caths in SW Ger), local eth minorities (e.g. refugees), and international communities (e.g. Moravians). (2/4)
