2) present being apolitical as the wise reasonable way, in that LL admired all women in politics, Thatcher to Clinton. The only bad guys are cartoonishly evil and reasonable people basically agree.

Yeah, growing up in South Texas, we would routinely take shopping trips and you would just walk back and forth. My dad and I did a Big Bend camping trip and there was a town across the river with literally no controlled access. Just back and forth however you want. This was only like 30 years ago.

Yep. It has been definitely proven and demonstrated that requiring users to change passwords frequently leads to weaker passwords, and yet organizations do it anyway.

Don't know if there is actually data for this, but the x/100 for person on the street who thinks "USA fought in WWII against the Nazis and the Russian Communists who are the same people and who are also the current Russians" is probably depressingly high.

While I can appreciate the optimism of "they're out there, we just have to find them" it doesn't do anyone any good to pretend our ideological enemies don't exist, and to not have a sober accounting of them.

There are red states. I'm in OK and while the cities are purple ish, anything the state votes on as a whole is overwhelmingly red. In fact as turnout increases it actually gets redder.

Progressives love to think that every red state is hiding a tranche of leftist rednecks, but it's just not true.
