Those old GW examples were maybe more a case of; we have these miniatures how can we sell them across the whole lineup of games? more cynical perhaps, but also more playful and less beholden to consistency and lore and all those things which are often (IMO) overvalued (esp by modern GW).

it feels disingenuous to say “we have enormous wealth”. on average we might but it’s the distribution that counts and on that front most people don’t have enormous wealth. The wealth isn’t invisible it’s concentrated & hoarded

Looking forward to this! I recommended Warcry in my survey response but I also think Martin Wallace’s Wildlands (and the judge dredd spinoff) is a really interesting addition to the genre which might be worth a look

I re-read it a couple of years back after realising the same thing. It was alright but I wouldn’t bother tbh, some interest as a time capsule but otherwise slight. that said, it was a very easy read so if you have a copy lying around…

I went New Order but honestly could have voted differently on a different day. I've never taken NIN seriously but it's never affected my enjoyment.
