these guys however had genuinely quite interesting head designs but were much harder to implement in spin off characters, so their 'masks' always laid at the bottom of the lego box hahaha.
As a side note, they're supposedly all based on different sea creatures, but tbh none of them are coming across

the bad guys from this set also had ribcages you could open by pushing the piece from their backside. And that released a re-crackable egg full of tiny bacteria guys. That alone as a toy weapon mechanic was really memorable. And they're vampires with very cool wing pieces?

Even so some of the designs are genuinely good in my eyes, especially the ones that reach for some recognisable animals for example. Sure these guys don't scream "desert scorpion" for the untrained eye but in the realm of bionicle they're so neat
