I was complaining about how expensive it is to tunnel through mountains in this game, but then I looked up the first rail tunnel in the US and construction on it started in 1831, so I guess that's fair.

made it to the first operating round and this feels like it's going to be a slow and mathy game

back on my trains bullshit. we've been playing a lot of 1846 ("run good train companies") and 1889 ("stock fuckery") and now we're playing 1830 for the first time. so far it seems like it's somewhere in between with a bigger map to run trains than shikoku, but more stock fuckery than 1846?

admittedly, i haven't paid any attention to kevin spacey because fuck that guy, but i don't remember seeing anything i would characterize as "exonerating"-- i do remember him recording videos that seemed really creepy and kind of menacing

probably my favorite zachtronics game as far as the intersection of mechanics and vibe, but i want an absurd level of simulation like you zoom out and see that everything you're building is inside of a guy in a job interview who really needs his internal trains running at full capacity
