Tog Hackerspace is a volunteer-driven community space based in Dublin, Ireland, where people from all backgrounds come together to share knowledge, work on projects, and explore technology and creativity.

Come hack, craft, code, and create with us!
Our holiday hangout has started. We will be eating leftover sweets and working on projects. To start recapping this 1991 Sony SW1 .

3D printed fix of the week.

One of our members designed a Christmas wreath holder in CAD to match the contours of the door, so it grips neatly and needs no holes or screws.
If you have a door, a wreath, and a problem, we have solutions. 🎄🛠️ #3DPrinting #FixAllTheThings

Did you know we used upcycled acrylic for this year’s Tog Christmas decorations?

The acrylic started life as donated bookshelves in the space, now it’s a festive laser cut cheer. We also filled up the sheets with extra bits to cut down on waste. 🦆

Christmas miracle at TOG Hackerspace 🎄📼

Ambrose brought a 1970s ITT Schaub-Lorenz tape recorder back to life. We opened it up and found a hair bobbin where a belt should be. Proper bodge, but we had the right belt and a Beatles mixtape to test it.

Check out this photo from last night’s Electronics Night at Tog Hackerspace. We were testing vintage gear, including this oscilloscope and function generator. Proper hands on fun.

First batch of Christmas decorations is in the post. 🎄📮

The new laser cutter is settling in nicely, and we’re putting it to work on acrylic we repurposed from old furniture. Lovely to see scrap getting a second life.

More festive makes on the way from TOG.

We’re big into our jams at TOG… Linux, Python, finish-a-thons – and now actual JAM. 🍓

With 3.2kg of blackberries from the Royal Canal + apples from a member’s tree, we made ~24 jars of jam at our Open Social (with the pizza oven going too!).

One of our members tackled an upholstery repair on this chair – stripped, re-padded and recovered instead of thrown away.

It’s a lovely reminder that repair skills live right alongside coding, 3D printing and electronics in a makerspace. Keep it, fix it, use it again. 💚

🧵 New blog post from TOG Hackerspace!

We’ve been thinking about repair culture, Repair Cafés and… darning socks. A pair of Inisheer socks were saved from the bin with a quick bit of needle-and-thread magic.
