It was a pleasure to welcome Prof. Jyoti Mishra @neatneuro.bsky.social from UC San Diego in @scanunit.bsky.social and hear about her amazing research on climate trauma and community resilience 🤗

I’m so excited that there are more and more neursocientists working on climate change topics!

In this review, we cover two topics. First, we discuss how climate action can benefit brain health, mental health and cognitive function both directly and indirectly. 🌳🧠🥦🚴‍♂️ We suggest focusing on such personal benefits has the potential to harvest self-interest as a driving force for change.

🚨 Preprint alert ❣️"Neuroscience and climate action: intersecting pathways for brain and planetary health"

...or what I'd like to call: Climate action for the brain and the brain for climate action! 👀🧠

It was such a pleasure to give a talk today at the Climate Cognition Lab at the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainabillity about our work on individual and nation-level predictors of climate change beliefs and action 🌍♻️

Such a wonderful group of people, very thankful for the invitation! 🤩

It's OUT! 🥳 My first (shared) first author paper with @kimdoell.bsky.social , @madalina.bsky.social , @jayvanbavel.bsky.social and 254 amazing collaborators is published 🌍
Hope our dataset would be useful to many! Cant way to see the research that will come from it 🤩

🔍 Importantly, the majority of the predictors showed divergent effects, predicting some but not all outcomes or even having opposite effects. This highlights the complexity of our responses to climate change 🌍 8/12

🔍 We tested 19 predictors on four different climate-relevant outcomes: climate change belief, policy support, willingness to share climate information on social media and engagement with a pro-environmental behavior task in a international sample of 4635 individuals. 2/12
