You know I'm fascinated by holes in trees. This one has seen squirrels, Nuthatches an these birds.
They're early this year but next month they'll be all loved up on this tree.

grown with willow and reeds. I'm sure it's still a sanctuary for many birds and mammals as it's pretty impenetrable in parts. There were three areas of open water but today I found only one. I'll try to go back in spring.
