Hundreds turned out this morning for another great walk’n’roll event at Wildwood Elementary. Walking or riding to school are great ways to exercise and are proven to improve academic performance.

Thanks to all, including the first responders who handed out stickers as kids arrived at school.

Thanks to the Southeast Ventura County YMCA Youth and Government program for the invitation to speak on civic engagement. The kids asked great questions and seemed very interested in getting more involved in their local governments. I encouraged all to get involved in the issues they care about. 1/2

Affecting 25 customers in Thousand Oaks, Southern California Edison advises that a public safety power shutoff (PSPS) event is possible on Sunday, 10/12 between 6 am and noon. This is on the Brennan circuit, which mainly serves Moorpark, Simi Valley, and the Santa Rosa Valley. More info at sce.com.

Tonight the Conejo Open Space Conservation Agency board voted unanimously to grant an easement to SCE, allowing it to replace about 8,850 feet of overhead power lines with underground lines to feed an existing Calleguas MWD water pressure regulating station. (1/2)

9/11 was catastrophic: Thousands of lives lost, illness for thousands more, assaults on civil liberties, and foreign-policy disasters we’re still dealing with.
