Two variants of cornflowers, painted in gouache. I had to do a little bit of digital cutting and pasting for this 'cause I messed up. Can you tell which flowers are edited in digitally?

I’ve been studying botanical illustration this summer. My new favourite flower might be the California Poppy. They’re a beautiful colour, the buds and pods look funny, and they’re called “sleepyheads” because they open up so late in the day.

(I really need to get back to posting regularly) I learned about “landsknechts” and their silly outfits and was inspired. Working in colour is harddd... #art #historical

Another illustration redraw. I wanted to experiment with a more Medieval style (although the version I based this on is from 1875).

I've been focused on translation work lately, so I haven't been drawing much.
Inspired by an illustration from an 1894 book on the indiginous peoples of Brazil, of a carving by the Bakairi/Kurâ people. Also a photo of the forest near my childhood home.

Here’s the original. From a book called “Curly. An actor's story, related by J. Coleman” published in 1885.

I haven’t been feeling very inspired lately, so I decided to try doing a redraw of a beautiful illustration I found in my research. (See reply)

During my archive browsing, I found some neat illustrations, where ghosts are rendered with white lines on a black engraved background and wanted to try it myself.

So excited to receive my first Ko-Fi commission. I love vintage kettles and painted flowers.

I used to draw a lot of dragons when I was around 10. I had so much lore for them too.

There's just something about characters wanting desperetly to touch each other but being unable to... This is the final completed piece I have of this project right now.

I messed up my drawing wrist couple of days ago, so I haven’t gotten much work done. Don’t forget to stretch!
In a Swedish kids song, a troll mother ties her babies down by their tails to put them to sleep. I like to think trolls do that a lot and it doesn’t hurt

Some more fanart of @kjcharleswriter.com's Band Sinister. This was the first scene I drew, because it's so visually striking. Even though drawing someone climbing a tree was very tricky. 🫥
