Shades of Disney, after literal decades of trying and failing to reverse-engineer the success of Star Wars, just up and buying Lucasfilm.

I’m cautiously optimistic. I wasn’t down on Disco like a lot of people, and thought the jump forward in time to a post-hegemonic Federation was one of the more exciting developments in the franchise, so more in that setting is at least interesting.

I hear that, and it’s rational. But I can’t help but think about how in the past month I saw two Netflix movies in theaters, and to do so I drove an hour and a half across state lines to get to the nearest screening.

when I was a kid I used to treat all the Bond movies with winter sports/snow sequences as Christmas movies. OHMSS, Living Daylights, For Your Eyes Only, etc
