If you squint hard enough... Haywood signs with the Suns looks close to Haywood signs with the Sixers

As long as they didn't skimp on the escalator durability.

Bad habit of both wasting on the big ticket decisions while trying to save a buck on the inexpensive things that people use everyday.

Michigan and OSU is up there

Out of curiosity, had Embiid approved, how would you have reacted at the deadline to trading Embiid for excellent picks, Tari and filter (FVV and Adams, who would be flipped next year)
February 7, 2026 at 7:21 PM
I also see some really good small ball Center minutes if they ever get a quality forward next to him who can rebound. Like a good version of Walker.

I'm happy for Barlow. If ever there was a guy who earned it...

A modest proposal...🦆

Given all the recent deadline day tax ducking, create a Lottery Tax.

Owner only gets a 50% Luxury Tax dispersal if you are in the lottery, which drops to 0% if you get a top 6 pick.

If you are going to reward owners for ducking the tax, why not incentivize them to win games?
February 7, 2026 at 12:33 PM
With so many teams ducking, there isn't even much of a distribution this year. Only about 5M.

"winning" at the margins

Is there a limit to how many players you can have on 10 days
February 5, 2026 at 11:09 PM
Even if McCain is more limited than what he looked like at the beginning of last season, having a true movement shooter who can also handle the ball and has a high BB IQ on a rookie deal is not something you just discard.

The Dallas Mavericks get under the first apron and the luxury tax line in one fell swoop by trading Anthony Davis to the Wizards.

$57 million in savings and the Mavericks create a massive trade exception.

Mikal would be great for them, but that roster is feeling really light on ball handling and creation.

Resetting with a million first round picks

Memphis has my favorite front office. Don't understand the Utah angle at all. KG-Ace-Lauri-JJJ hardly a win now template for the West

Morey gets looped in so he can pull off his white whale... the legendary 7 team trade.
January 31, 2026 at 8:01 PM
If this gets VJ the chance to level up in the offense I'll take it.
January 31, 2026 at 6:35 PM
And I think it gives the Bucks owner 11M in savings... unless he still has to pay for the suspended games?
January 31, 2026 at 6:07 PM
I'm trying to figure out how much money this is saving the owner? Does he save the 11M in salary due to not playing a suspended player, then 5.9M in tax savings... then if he ducks the tax, he gets another 11M in distributions? Or does he pay the salary and the money goes to the league charity?
January 31, 2026 at 5:58 PM
Maxey, VJ (and McCain) seem to be the type that will overperform our expectations. If we are going to bet on an outlier outcome, that's where I'm placing my chips.

While a Giannis trade, while seemingly the obvious all in move, feels more like doubling down on Morey-ball in the post 3-star era.
January 31, 2026 at 12:54 AM
I'm much more willing to bet on Maxey and VJ than I am in Embiid being at the height of his powers during a full playoff run, even if they add Giannis.

And given it's all a low probability, I think the ride with VJ and Maxey will be much more engaging to follow. More like the early Embiid years.

Do you think the Celtics are going to try to get under the first apron so that they can make a run at Nurk in the buyout market?
