The jury for drafts is a great idea, and I hope they don't announce themselves, because there is huge potential for a deductive metagame involving listening out for any suspiciously out-of-character picks and working out which member of the Back Page extended universe they are designed to win over

I do agree with all the replies saying it's unfair to blame the lawyers, but I also accept that a whole load of lawyers showing up to tell you why you shouldn't criticise lawyers is probably not that persuasive.

The word "NPC" is such a reliable alarm bell. It captures a certain kind of preening, performative spitefulness from people who need to believe that they're cleverer than everyone else but who really just had their minds blown by The Matrix and have spent the rest of their lives chasing that high

Every time I try Connections it contains something that on Only Connect would be a red herring but in Connections is just slapdash design (e.g. four "parts of a song" but two of them mean the same thing). It's like you have to suspend the part of your brain that has respect for the question-setter.
