Great list! So much respect for Fust, Friendship, and RD and the RHB in the top 10 where they belong. Missed this Brian Dunne album until this list, first listen hot take is that he’s the John Mellencamp of the “definitely not alt country” scene

Got this on a lark for a buck, checked discogs when I got home and 🤯 LP collecting is silly sometimes

lastly an odd side note, the summer I graduated college I was neighbors with one of the two vocalists from opener Animal Piss, it’s everywhere. They had a kid who was always barefoot and an old dog I was happy to have in my yard. Saw x04 (a Bill Nace/John truscinski band) play in their living room.

They managed to cram 8 people on the tiny stage at Deep Cuts, 3 keyboard centric multi instrumentalists and a violin player. Big wall of sound thing going on with shades of the dead and the war on drugs, on top of the normal Roadhouse Band twang shuffle.

Builds worlds and develops characters and tells stories through brilliant and hilarious little turns of phrase, it’s that he’s an incredibly charismatic front man who leads a killer band, and just seems like a really genuine nice guy in all this for the love of the game. 14th show of 2025 & the best
