“You feed me too.”
“Where’d you go?” “Oh, just…thinking.” Harry gives him a tight smile and a half-second of eye contact before the worried look returns on his face. “I could tell as much, thanks. Thinking of something in particular there or?” He says it as softly as possible, but he’s frustrated that all evening Harry’s clearly been worried and keeping his distance from Louis. It just feels more and more like the thing between them is for when they’re alone, when the rest of the world has gone to sleep. Harry sighs and turns toward Louis, bringing one of his hands up to Louis’ shoulder. “It’s nothing for you to worry about, promise.” Louis rolls his eyes. “Just…help me forget it and enjoy the rest of the night?” Louis nods, because he can do that. Sure. Yeah. Louis is three beers in and feeling a bit cheeky. “You want me on my knees or to take you against the wall?” Harry slaps Louis’ shoulder. “Louis! Jesus, fuck.” He looks around to make sure no one is within earshot, but he’s wearing a smirk. “C’mon, then. Let’s dance.” Louis claps his hands together, rubs them, then grabs Harry’s drinkless hand. “You hate dancing.” Harry plants his feet firmly against the pea gravel. Louis’ smirk tells him he can tell Harry wants to dance. He knows it’s obvious, across his face, that he’s a bit endeared Louis knows how to cheer him up. “I do not. I dance with Beryl every Sunday,” Louis scoffs and tugs at Harry’s hand again, but he doesn’t budge. “Only cos she feeds you,” Harry squints suspiciously at him. “Yeah? You feed me, too.” Louis winks, and Harry melts.
