on a scale of "bit of a hack but it'll work for stealth behaviour" to "that's a very silly idea don't even try that", what would you think of making a player character emit a short-lifespan one of these interest sources on every footstep, or every 10 footsteps or something?

someone put on the movie and i was like "hmmm i'll half pay attention, the first movie had some cool bits, i like the realistic spaceship design" and then the opening is this excellent "fuck you if you like the realistic spaceship design!!!" bit and that was me told
