Well it's run by me ultimately : ) we don't have a formal non-profit foundation for JSR, yet, but we do have a board charter and some well known board members. We'd like to put it into OpenJS or other foundation for safe keeping

sorry what is the critique of JSR? this is exactly the problem we're trying to solve. and it's absolutely not to late to fix...

I'm in "Awe" . The sheer momentum and scale of this (have you seen the data centers they're building? the amounts invested?).
Throughout history new technology has meant better lives for people - even if there were mishaps along the way
It's scary but also amazing and unstoppable

I don't want to minimize the risks - you're right, AI can and will be misused. We should expect some disasters.
But intelligence is measured in real-world breakthroughs - and ML/AI has been delivering those regularly for over a decade since they started using GPUs.

It's the moving goal post - being able to play chess is not intelligent, being able to classify images is not intelligence, passing the Turing test isn't intelligent. What is intelligence?
Anthropomorphizing is entirely warranted at this point.

oof - we're coming at this from different angles :)
I'm quite certain the rest of our lives (if not the rest of life on earth) will be defined by this tech tinyclouds.org/underestimat...

Can’t one just be in awe of the progress, the technology, its consequences?
