I agree - the only things high fps is needed for is intense action games to keep controls fluid and prevent motion sickness

It always struck me as disingenious and FAR too focused on imago
I'm weird in that i distrust those too invested in their image since i'll always have to wonder whether what they'll say is what they actually believe vs what they think they'll have to say
