Yup! Watching the 3 movies totals out to be about an 8 hour run time and you get the story that Tomino was trying to tell, plus some *slightly* remastered animations.
Even better, all 3 are on youtube for free after being taken off of netflix.

Yup! Watching the 3 movies totals out to be about an 8 hour run time and you get the story that Tomino was trying to tell, plus some *slightly* remastered animations.
Even better, all 3 are on youtube for free after being taken off of netflix.

The manga on the other hand has a LOT of background information that explains motivations of various characters, and is drawn by the original Key Frame artist for the OG TV show.
The OG show very much kinda plods along and while there are some exciting moments it's probably going to drag for you.

The movies were remastered from the OG TV series and Tomino was allowed to remove parts he had to shoehorn in at the demand of the sponsors at the time.
