I was driving on my way to Costco to get pizza for lunch. Listening to the radio and it was playing “Against the Wind” by Bob Seger. I listened intently to the lyrics, and I started crying... "I'm older now and still running against the wind." I am down and out.

I came up with this haiku as I thought we don’t have any opposition leaders to this fascist regime, except the American people. These corrupt politicians are beholden to greedy corporations and billionaires. As George Carlin said, “It’s a big club, and you ain’t in it!”

I was composing this haiku on top of my head during my walk today. There are still moments in our current political turmoil that I couldn’t believe what’s happening 𝙞𝙨 happening. Complacency, and failure to prosecute previous criminals in power led us here. 🌷✨

I was trying to psych myself to stay positive when I came up with this haiku. The new year is supposed to bring new beginnings and new hope. Yet, I’m not quite sure how to feel about it. The new year’s day has passed and it’s just another day just trying to survive. 🌷✨
