Patrick has made some adjustments to his favourite chair.

Long walk with Patrick today, down the track past Catherine and Elm houses in Bransdale. The path cuts back down over Hodge Beck. Patrick launched himself into the pool. I’m pretty sure it’s his first swim. I was too slow to catch on video unfortunately. Walked back through the eastern wood trail.

Patrick scoffing peanut butter from a kong.

Patrik helpfully collecting plant pots today. And, tiny bit too big to squeeze out under the garden gate.

Nettles and wild garlic from the garden combined to make a tasty soup.

Looking suitably guilty.

Before and After. Patrick in the dog house and on the top tier of the naughty step. Took me the first half of Villa Newcastle to clean up using my mower.

Jean, on the left, is wearing a MIU MIU silk polo top. It costs £1,750 but doesn’t even have long sleeves!

A flock of Patrick’s friends in the 4acre field beside our front garden. Play date with Ice, a neighboring farmer’s sheepdog, retired after a fall on the moors.

Happy first birthday Patrick!

Patrick is doing really well. Taking lots more naps during the day. He's discovered the spring doorstop which he likes to twang, very funny. Still hasn't made it up the stairs. some friends visited last week with dogs. Pat had a wonderful time chasing them around the garden.

Patrick arrived from Leeds Dogs Trust last Tuesday. The first picture was taken moments after the 2 staff members from the Trust departed.

Coconut, turmeric and yellow split pea soup from BBC Food

The green bits are Kalette, something I’ve not used before.
Bought some along with lots of other veg from a self service shop in Carlton, a hamlet between Helmsley and Bransdale.

Banana bread from Peter Berley’s “Modern Vegetarian Kitchen”. Dangerous to serve without tea, probably my fault. Recipe is from one of my favorite vegetarian cookbooks. It’s too dry, I should have added a little more water and an extra banana to the mix.

The weather and associated difficulties getting in or out of Bransdale have delayed his arrival. Now expecting Patrick on Jan 28th 💕

Snow is sticking around. That’s looking east towards Farndale from the edge of my front garden. One of the locals in my back garden after I forgot to shut the gate.

First action on the feeder today. After my first unsuccessful attempts to identify what turned out to be a Woodcock the other day, I’m reasonably confident this is a blue tit.

Bird not in this galette-ish creation

Snow is melting, some of the ice on the roads is not. Tried to leave for Wakefield on the road to Kirkbymoorside from #Bransdale earlier today. At the steep section approaching the old school house my ford van slowed to a stop before sliding backwards 😬. How much is one of those #INEOS Grenadiers?

Here’s my Bara Brith or Barmbrack, aka Tea Bread. Good spread a little Flora. It’s quite like the bread pudding my Mum used to make.
