My lab's been attacked by an anti-wind group and their lawyers. They threatened the science funding of my whole university, to shut me and my undergraduate research assistants up.

NYT just covered it. 1/n

📢Global Carbon Budget 2025📢

Fossil CO2 emissions continue to rise in 2025 while the terrestrial carbon sink recovers to pre-El Niño strength.

The key findings are covered in two reports this year:

I've used the CAT Tracker for years in explaining where we are in addressing climate change. Remember, pledges and targets are just that...the whole Paris Agreement is based on voluntary and nonbonding promises (except to make pledges and report).
CAT Global Update 2025 🚨 Ten years after the #ParisAgreement we see little to no measurable progress in warming projections - for the fourth consecutive year.
The 2035 #NDCs have made no difference to our warming outlook.

It's a mess out here.

This bill is a spectacularly terrible idea. And it is extra insulting that they are doing this during COP30.

MA folks do call your reps about this. There are also rallies tomorrow.

Check out this event at Colombia's pavilion this Saturday led by CSSN stalwart @guywhedwards.bsky.social, which will present a new study on discourses of climate delay in Colombia's energy transition debate in the media funded by the CSSN.

We need more studies like this for global South nations.

Unlike politics, there’s no such thing as public health centrism. It’s evidence-based radicalism. It’s all about change towards health justice and equity, not tinkering around the edges trying to keep everyone happy. Such notions, my friends, are rather radical and there’s no shame in that.
