It is Lenin's birthday today. This would be my birthday card to Lenin in my (almost) birthday suit with Karl Mark over my face in my first performance in NYC in 1980 at PS 122 when I was 21 called "Paint Yrself Red-Me & Mayakovsky. I should have worn cleaner JC Penney tighty-whities!

Happy Easter! Was trimming the pink jasmine on side of our house in L.A. and saw these two yellow ducks looking hopefully out our kitchen window. As Trump and his hideous fascist creatures try to destroy US, imagine the rebirth and resurrection of our democracy that we will make happen!

A group of frustrated Yosemite National Park staffers hoping to draw attention to the federal government’s sweeping workforce cuts have hung an upside-down American flag thousands of feet off the ground on the side of El Capitan. The upside-down flag is a symbol of distress or a national threat.

This is what NYC does to fat, insane "Kings" with painted faces. F*** Burger King Trump and bravo to the Governor of Maine Janet Mills who stood up to the Bully.

Alistair and I are back home in L.A. Flew the 10,000 miles from Australia to our wounded city. Ash from the nearby fires, a bougainvillea flower and a orange tree leaf fallen from the bone dry weather are at our front step of our undamaged home. Time to pitch in. #nuestraseñoralareinadelosangeles

Thinking of my beloved L.A. from far away on the Indian Ocean with Alistair's family in Perth, Australia. Love this image today on Venice Beach Boardwalk where we live. Praying for El Pueblo de Nuestra Senora, Reina de los Angeles del Rio Porciuncula (Full name of L.A.)

Alistair and I went to the L.A. opening of Cage aux Folles at the gorgeous Pasadena Playhouse I can't imagine a better production of La Cage. And it feels like a perfect show, a tonic, an anti-fascist elixir, for this awful poisonous election time. My dear pal Ryan Haddad was fantastic in the show!

John Pavlovitz on the hellscape of the election..."If there was ever something that justified a deleted contact number or an empty chair at the Thanksgiving table or an exodus from a church or the termination of a friendship, it is this."
