My image is from a street sketch bought in Havana a few years ago. A decent likeness.
Did you read where balcony solar is now legal in Utah? Even Costco is now selling plug and play solar to Utah customers. Small distributed generation has a place in the electricity puzzle.

Absolutely!!! Can MB be included too please??

IF we get electrical interties, methane down 75%, stronger industrial carbon pricing and some real effort on Pathways I am ok with this. All of these are concrete steps to net zero but can see real progress in 10 years or less.

Reading the press release, it might not matter what Smith cares about. Carney is working on stuff here that takes a decade and longer to move from thought to actual construction. Smith will likely be back on a radio talk show well before that.

There is some good stuff in this MOU. Make sure prerequisites are actually done -- expect there will be requests for pre-approval and pre-construction before they are done. Expect Alberta to try to move the pipeline way before Pathways is working.

We are talking about it because Smith and her group have driven rage about this for years. Fighting Ottawa has been a great distraction from the chaos at home. We are being played.

A moot point ….. but there actually isn’t a project. Has the MOU been released? I may have missed it.

Ask the stans. Seems they are unfairly assessing the PM’s work here.

Doesn’t a surplus of credits (so low prices) mean someone is significantly reducing emissions? Maybe the government enters the market and buys the cheap credits to offset their emissions?
November 26, 2025 at 6:05 PM
What is the manipulation? His statement in the House yesterday: We are making the changes for the necessary conditions but not the sufficient conditions. Pretty clear - someone else is responsible for the sufficient conditions.

Who is buying (or not buying) these credits? What value do they bring a buyer? Why would I buy a credit when I can directly buy renewable energy?

It would help many Albertans if you had a comment about the use of the notwithstanding clause to deny some Albertans their fundamental rights. As this is used against a specific gender it actually is likely to encourage gender based violence in Alberta.

He was struck by the driver of an SUV ..... unless the SUV was autonomous.

Read the “within the confines” part. Quite ok with freedom limits for things not fitting their Biblical view.
November 24, 2025 at 1:16 AM
Conspiracy theories were different at that time but equally or more dangerous. Their authority came directly from the Bible while they railed against such things a Medicare, labour unions etc etc. Very LibAuth I think.

At its peak Manning had 600,000 listeners nationwide. A much tighter connection than mere social media. He promoted the theory of an international financial organization (Jewish of course) as masters of the globe. Then move on to his conspiracies about communism and labour.

Today our government is working hard to be the "preacher" that knows the path of the deity. It used to be Ernie Manning -- who even had a Sunday evening prayer/preaching broadcast. If you stay on the good side of the Bible I can accept much -- notwithstanding ....
November 23, 2025 at 10:31 PM
Isn't really new .... Evangelical Christians have always supported maximum freedom within the confines of an authoritarian (God and the Bible.). And we have always had preachers who knew the path that this deity prescribed and pulled believers along.

I am coming up 50th street and joining the Henday earlier when I can. I don't like the new left turn and avoid it as much as possible.
